Samsung’s 2022 NEO QLED TVs eliminate the need for a Dolby Atmos soundbar

Samsung smart TV is finally adding Dolby ATMOS for its new 2022 line up. Samsung has been one of the few smart TV brands that did not promote Dolby ATMOS as it has home grown 3D audio technology called OTS (Object Tracking Sound).

It looks like Samsung has changed their marketing strategy to add Dolby ATMOS in the new 2022 smart TVs along with enhancing audio aspects of the features.

The new QN800B Samsung Neo QLED 8K Smart TV comes with 4.2.2 (4 speakers for Conventional Surround Speaker Layout/ 2x Subwoofer/ 2x Height) speaker systems that can rival the speaker systems in the Dolby ATMOS soundbar. Whether a user may not need a soundbar will depend on the user’s expectation but having a muti-channel speaker system with Dolby ATMOS will clearly enhance the 3D audio experience in a smart TV.

The QN85B Samsung Neo QLED 4K Smart TV comes with 2.2.2 speaker systems with Dolby ATMOS.
