The Vivomove Trend is the first Garmin watch to feature wireless charging

The new Vivomove Trend from Garmin is the first Garmin watch to feature wireless charging. The Vivomove trend is not itself Qi certified, however, Garmin’s website claims that it is compatible with most Qi chargers. The option of wireless charging appears to be supplemental to the charging cable that is still shipped in the box with the watch.

While shipments of the Vivomove Trend itself won’t have a huge impact on the overall wireless charging market, if Garmin continues to add wireless charging to future products this will be a noticeable increase to the market as a whole, as Garmin ship more than 15 million smart watches per year.SAR covers the market for wireless charging in smart watches among many other devices as a part of its wider Wireless Power and Charging Technologies service, including power ratings and coil topology.
