Powermat wins Best of Sensors 2022 for its PMT 100 Wireless Power Solution

The Best of Sensors 2022 Award has been awarded to Powermat Technologies Ltd. for its Powermat PMT 100 Wireless Power Solution at the Sensors Converge 2022 Conference and Expo. The PMT 100 is a 40W solution with a small form factor that provides power transmission over up to a 15mm coil to coil distance with allowance for 15mm of misalignment. It is a low form factor, highly efficient design with very few peripherals that is suitable for many applications, but most notably medical devices including implants.

The use of wireless power technology in medical devices could be incredibly beneficial as this allows for sealed units that can be more easily sterilized. The benefits are even greater for implant devices which would otherwise require surgery to replace a battery, placing the patient at additional risk. A wirelessly powered solution could be recharged at regular intervals without the need for undertaking such risks. SAR covers the opportunities for wireless charging technologies in its Wireless Power and Charging Technologies service, including market forecasts, market shares, and a product database.
