Energous, a leading developer of RF based Over The Air (OTA) wireless power technologies have announced that its 1 watt PowerBridge has been approved for unlimited distance transmission by Japan’s regulatory body. This allows Energous to deploy its technology throughout the Japanese market with no distance limitations (up to 1W power transfer). Japan is the latest country Energous has achieved certification in, joining a list that includes: South Korea, China, the United States, Canada, the UK, Europe, India, Australia and New Zealand.
Energous can now deploy its technology in most of the world’s major markets, this will be a boost for the general OTA wireless power market as the technology finds its niches and becomes more popular and widespread.
